Based on "Pinnacle Chevron" from Barbara Walker's Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Materials: Trendsetter Yarns "Kashmir" or other similar medium/chunky yarn, 4 50 gm. balls; size 10 needles, or size to obtain gauge (although not terribly crucial with a scarf, if you ask me--just as long as you're happy with the finished width and length). Gauge: 18 sts & 25 rows = 4 in. in patt stitch. As BW suggests, I "pressed only lightly," so pressing heavily, or stretching while blocking, will yield a different gauge. Scarf dimensions: just over 8" wide and approx. 5 feet long. Pattern repeat is outlined in blue; optional rib border also shown on chart. Cast on 37 sts; if using rib border establish rib as follows: k2, *p3, k3; rep from * to 5 sts before end, p3, k2. Cont in ribbing for 5 more rows then follow patt chart until scarf nearly desired length, ending with Row 16 of repeat. Cont for 10 more rows as shown on chart (or 4 rows if not using rib border). Bind off in patt.
