Mistakes happen. There are so many numbers involved that statistics are against you. I usually try to look at a pattern again after putting it away for a few days. I find that I'm much better at catching mistakes if I take some time away from it. I also think getting a friend or professional tech editor to take a look is a good idea. I intend to do that when I eventually release my own patterns (someday!).
